Opis:
OS were asked to check the recent repair work to the Ben Nevis cairn, the man made structure right on top of the highest summit in Britain where its highest trig pillar resides. It has been the perfect opportunity for the OS team to resurvey the summit at the same time with state of the art, satellite fixing equipment. As it's turned out it really hasn’t been a walk in the park as the pictures will show and as Field Surveyor Angus Hemmings and Geodetic expert Mark Greaves explain.
