Imposant und unnahbar drohnt die Ruine der einstmaligen Burg Griffen auf einem nach allen Seiten steil abfallenden Kalkfels über dem gleichnamigen Ort. Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts wurde die Burg Griffen erstmals urkundlich erwähnt.
