Opis:
People say the cowboy ridge in Zion National Park is a rattlesnake infested cactus field. I’m sure it can be during certain months but it’s December and only the cacti are out. After looking into every possible ski objective within 800 miles we decided that my birthday ski trip would have to be postponed. The weather up north has been erratic with heavy snow, then rain, then intense heat and last of all fridged temperatures strait from the arctic. So we decided to head a couple hours south to the red rock and sunny skies of Zion National Park. There are lots of options in Zion. But late the night before this trip Chase sent a link to this route and it seemed like just my thing. I’d never heard of the Cowboy Ridge and for the first half of the day I called it the cowboy scramble but it proved to be just the thing to sooth our frustrations at being denied a volcano.
