Mnogi Golu Plješevicu upoređuju i smatraju pandanom Hitlerovom Orlovom Gnijezdu (Kehlsteinhaus) u Berchtesgadenu. Sličnosti je doista mnogo – Berchtesgarden se nalazi na granici Njemačka-Austrija, Plješevica na granici Hrvatska-BiH. Orlovo gnijezdo je na 1800 m nadmorske visine, Gola Plješivica 1600m.
