Opis: On first day, we did a 1 1/2 hour tour around Lake Glattalp, then stayed the night in Berggasthaus Glattalp (charming! great dinner and breakfast spread). On the second day the hike to Gumen, Braunwald, was supposed to be a 4 h 15 m hike, but walking/balancing on karst stones added 45 minutes to our hiking time. Water eats through karst and forms weird landscapes, reminiscent of monster bones, prompting my husband to mutter 'Mordor!' Lots of sink holes around too, you're basically walking on top of the Hölloch (hell hole) caves, the largest cave system in Europe, so follow the way signs and don't stray from the path!
