In this episode, Ollie talks us through some of the reasons why climbers can suffer from neck and shoulder pain and he demonstrates several exercises which we have found to be extremely useful in preventing pain. These exercises are targeted, performed at a high intensity and easy to add into your weekly training. Doing a few of these exercises can help climbers create more muscular balance in the upper body and help support the neck when looking upwards during long belay sessions.
