Opis:
Mostly known as Austria's 'National Ski Tour' or 'The Rumpler'. From the valley 'Obertraun' by means of the cablecar to the top of the 'Krippenstein (2109 m). It starts with a short downhill skiing to its real starting point at the 'Gjadalm/Oberfeld' (1780m). The 'Rumpler' is a very famous ski tour of about 30k and +1300m and -2400m of heigth difference. The clockwise orbit of the four 'Gajdsteine' mountains is Upper Austria's most beautiful ski tour. The highest point lies just in front of the 'Dachstein' which is Upper Austria's highest mountain of 2998m. The climb onto its summit requires clamps and rope equipment and will take about 1 hour. The ascent point to the summit is called 'Randkluft'. It is some 200 height meters from that highest point of the ski tour. The orbit finishes at the quaint hut 'Schilcherhaus/Gajdalm' (1740m). The complete downhill from the 'Hallstätter' glacier's rim (2800m) of the 'Dachstein (2998m) to 'Obertraun' (600m) is Austria's longest downhill - this means more than 18k of both free skiing and classic downhill run skiing. The total time required from the 'Krippenstein' mountain station back to 'Obertraun' valley station lies between 4 to 7 hours.
