Er unternahm seit frühester Jugend Wanderungen und Reisen und wandert seit 40 Jahren auf allen Kontinenten der Erde. Er blickt auf 50.000 gewanderte Kilometer zurück, vom Wüstenwandern in Marokko über Wanderungen in den Alpen bis hin zum hochalpinen Trekking in Nepal.
